I have researched many cases and owned a couple of different ones. As well as many different iPhones. Well I don't think that there is a case that provides the protection the Otterbox defender does. they have improved the iPhone 5 case so the outer rubber protection fits better. There is one improvement though that they should make. That is the case will not let the Apple 30 to lighting adaptor plug in. I had to trim a little off the opening to the lighting port area to allow the 30 to lighting adaptor plug in. I was able to do this with very little work and no damage to the case overall. So now it works. They should have made room for that adaptor, but it wasn't even available when I ordered my Otterbox, seeing I ordered the first day the Otterbox was available for the iPhone 5.

Cons: make 30 pin to lighting fit
