The Defender Series case for the iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad 4 is built for those of us on-the-go, have children or are generally graceless with electronics.

This was a gift from my daughter-in-law who researched it carefully online. The original one had too much of a gap between the screen and the protector so the screen was not sensitive enough to touch. I had nearly given up on using it but customer service made it right, right away. I'm glad I called. The case gives me piece of mind and protects my iPad when I cook. It's great for recipes. I also love the stand.
Pros: High quality, Durable, angles of stand, protection

Is this going to shut off my iPad when you close it?

The iPad has a internal switch that shuts off the screen when the cover (Apple "Smart Cover") is closed, and turn back on when its opened, will this case do the same thing?
No.
