This is an outstanding case. It fits nice and snug, all the ports are covered so that dust or other things don't get in. The outer top shell makes into a stand for viewing movies, pictures etc. It feels nice in your hands. Now the only cons that I can say are that the case does add a lot of bulk, both in overall size and weight. The overall added bulk I found as both a pro and con, making it bigger made it much easier for me to hold (I have an Amazon Kindle Fire HDX and I found it so thin it was hard to grip with my R.A.) but he added weight made me not want to hang onto it for very long. I am not sure that there is anything that can be done about the weight without compromising the case. But overall I love the case, use it everyday, and have NO plans on getting anything different.
Pros: High quality, Durable, good looking
Cons: bulk/weight

Dimensions of Defender case for Kindle Fire HD

You should contact the manufacture as ALL Kindles have slight variations both in sizes and button/speaker placement, and other variations depending on models as well. For example he HD and HDX even if they are both 7" are not compatible with cases due to different button/port/speaker placements. But the Otter Box folks will be able to assist you in getting the right case for the perfect fit and best protection.
