This case is great! I feel like I could use it for self-defense if I needed to...
I can't seem to get a lot of my headphones to work with it, though, and need to carry around a small extender. Either the plug needs to be wider, or if that would compromise it too much, have a small extender built into the case and then plug that. Next gen could do this, but by then I'll be using wireless headphones primarily, as will most people that would buy this case and don't already...
Pros: High quality, Durable, protective, ergonomic albeit large
Cons: limiting design, size

How does the fingerprint ID work with case?

I can not tell by the pictures shown, but is the touch ID sensor exposed? Or is it covered by something?
Covered by a flexible plastic film. Could tear or stretch if you're not careful during install or sharp things contact it just right but seems pretty tight and even if it broke it would be waterproof for a bit because of the tight plastic or rubber around it.

Does TouchID work?

When the case is on, is there a passthrough for touch ID to work on the home button? The case images looks like it could, but the tech specs or the blurb do not explicitly mention this. I need this to work to purchase the case.
Yes! I returned my Armor case and got this one partly for this reason.

Is this case snow-proof? If not, in what way, or for what reason, is it not?

When I bought it in Boston I was told it would be fine falling into the snow on the side of the road and their advertisements sugegest it is as well. Plus snow is water, so waterproof better cover it unless disclaimed.

Is the case waterproof when the headphone jack is being used?

No. It seems possible to add an adapter and make it so yourself but I recommend getting waterproof Bluetooth earbuds.

Are the port covers on the bottom hinged with a metal pin or with a plastic/rubber connection?

They are dovetailed into the case from the inside and can only be removed with the back off and the phone out.

Does the Preserver case require an adapter to plug in headphones into the jack? Secondly, would an "L" shaped headphone pin fit into the jack?

Most headphones won't fit, unfortunately. The iPhone ones will, however, though they don't on the Armor series. I have a couple pairs of L-shaped ones that do fit, though, because they are thin enough. My Sony MDR plugs definitely don't :)

I carry around my Belkin Rockstar whenever this is a problem.

Will the fingerprint scan still work on the iPhone 5s if the case is on?

Yes! It's seems to not work if it's foggy or wet all the time, or if you are too sweaty, but only a bit more often than without the case is this a problem.
