This case seems to work quite well. ONLY complaint seems to be that those on the other end that I am talking to tell me that it sounds as if I am in some kind of a box, or tunnel, when I am speaking to them. So far, this case does seem to be a vast improvement over the Armor series, and it does not pop open when dropped, as the Armor cases would if dropped from about two feet, or more.
Pros: High quality, Durable, lightweight
Cons: phone conversations are questionable.

While I really do like the Armor case, if it dropped from just a couple of feet, lands on left side of the case, it will indeed pop the back of the case open. While a full length lock in design was put along the entire side of the case one side, the other side has no pin, detent, nor anything to fix it in place, nor allow the back of the case to move the hinges ever so slightly outwards, allowing the back to pop open....and it has been replaced several times....all the same. Great quality, but it will not hold up to a drop of the distance Otterbox claims. The membranes are very thin, unprotected, on the bottom of the case also, so care must be taken not too plug in your phone too quickly, puncturing the membrane...which I had done on two cases and had to use a dot of VLP (Liquid Vinyl) to repair the case membranes....
Pros: Durable, very nice stainless hinge, overall design exceptional, oring ports well done
Cons: Not durable, design flaw, very delicate membrane, back can pop open with drop

Will the fingerprint scan still work on the iPhone 5s if the case is on?

SURE!! It's why that membrane is built into the case, so it will work with the fingerprint. If I am outdoors, or working, my hands can get dirty and that can be a lot bigger issue. I just leave me disabled in those instances, and it makes things work a whole lot easier....

Silent Button

Does anyone have a problem using this silent button? I had bought this case and could not get the button to work and was wondering if everyone has this problem or if mine was defective.
It seems to work fine on my case but it is stiff...After I used mine several times, it seemed to be a lot easier...maybe to silicone seated in better, but I understand how stiff it was at first!

How is the touch screen under water? Like does it work well?

Good question, but really never had any need to use the screen underwater, well unless I was going to take a picture of something while I was actually submerged...

Does this case need constant drying?

Whenever the case (and the phone) gets soaked in water, be it the pool, taking a shower, or getting caught in rain, does it need to be taken apart and dried again, or will the seals keep water from gradually seeping in? I don't want to warp the plastic or loosen the seals by constantly opening the case.
It seems to stay waterproof, and do not suggest constantly taking it apart. As I answered another question about pool/ hot tub water, I will say that the chlorine, salts, chemical from pools and hot tubs could be tough on the case and seals after a while. Would highly suggest rinsing off the case in a sink after any exposure to water with chemicals, salts, chlorine in it. Also highly suggest testing the case, per Otterbox's guidelines before getting the phone, case wet.

Will the case float with the phone inside?

Wouldn't suggest that...it is not buoyant by itself, but there are some foam devices that could be attached to the lanyard, which are sold at marine stores which would suffice if it was dropped into the water. While bulkier, losing an expensive phone, with all your data, pictures, and numbers is not such a great option. Seal Line makes high quality zip lock type dry bags which I have stored my equipment in, and if they are sealed with some air in them, they will float...tested, and works!

Will there be a holster available for the new iphone 5s preserver case?

Many aftermarket nylon holsters are available for this case online. I found a few nice large eyeglass cases to work quite well at REI. Also found some padded camera cases to give some added protection, from Staples, but somewhat bulkier.
