Allow me to start by saying the Otterbox case itself appears to do everything it's meant to do, that is, protect my phone. That's the "Love" part of the title. The "Hate" component is the belt holster that's supposed to keep the unit attached to me. I've used the Otterbox for about 4 months as of this writing and had to get the holster replaced twice. The first time was after just three weeks of use. I suspect it's a design flaw, for some reason the corner of the holster keeps breaking off. The worst part is it's breaking while the unit is on my belt. One minute my phone is where it belongs as I'm walking, the next it's flying off my belt along with the holster's corner. So far I've been lucky I wasn't in a position for the phone to get seriously damaged. But I can see the day when I'm crossing the street, the holster breaks and my phone becomes part of the asphalt.
Since it takes almost two weeks to get the replacement holster I've been compelled to purchase a competitor's product to use during the wait. This is on top of the money I spent on the original Otterbox.
In sum, if you're looking for a quality product to protect the phone itself then purchase an Otterbox. Just don't depend on the holster or you may find yourself testing the case in ways you hadn't intended on doing. And for this reason I can't in good conscience recommend the Otterbox to a friend.

Are there instructions or a video that describes how to install a Defender Otter case onto a Droid Ultra?

Tross,
I'm not directly aware of a video but if you have access to the 'net you may want to try to search for one. Go to your search engine, usually Google, and type in something like "instructions for Otterbox Defender case". I've done this for other products and always found something useful.
Hope this helps.
