 iPad Reflex Series Case
iPad Reflex Series Case
The Reflex Series case for the iPad is inspired by a car’s crumple zone. It not only takes a hit, it recoils and springs back.

I love this case, overall... It's small and fairly sleek while still providing OtterBox-level protection. It helps maintain the slim feel of the iPad without sacrificing sturdiness. I also love that it comes with its own stand (reversible to hold the device at either a steep or low angle) that doubles as a Smart Cover, which turns the iPad to sleep mode when applied. My only qualm is the design of the clip that holds the stand up... While the tight fit of the clip does keep the stand from popping out and falling, it is so tight that it actually causes the stand to be very inconvenient to take down. I've jammed my finger on it more than once trying to get it unstuck, and in less than a year I've had to order two replacements due to the plastic around the clip cracking and breaking. That bums me out since I did pay a significant price for it, which I'm used to with OtterBox since it is high quality protection for my iPad. If OtterBox could find some way to modify the clip part of the stand so it doesn't either break my finger or keep breaking, I would be completely satisfied with this case! Good news is that customer service is exceptional and they have done everything they can to replace the broken pieces so I can continue to enjoy the protection of the case!
Pros: Durable, sturdy, protective, slim design, looks nice/professional
Cons: stand clip on cover too tight/breaks

Does the cover for the Reflex Series for the iPad 4 act as a "Smart Cover" in that it puts the iPad into standby when covering the screen?

Yes, it does. In my experience, that function works very well!
