I have typically been reluctatnt to use Otterbox cases because of the extra bulk. I LOVE their protection factor, but I hate to put my phone in such a case. I have been a big fan of Lifeproof cases because of this. I was happy to know that Otterbox bought Lifeproof, because I thought that the OB protection would come in a LP slim style case.
The Preserver series is close to what I expected. It is slightly larger than the Lifeproof Nuud case I have, but feels more rugged. I have full confidence that my phone is protected in the mud, water and from drops.
Good:
Rugged, Colorful, Speaker sound quality
Not so Good:
Color Fades off on the Pistachio case. I went with this one to add some color to my phone and the color keeps rubbing off. I have had to exchange it with Otterbox now and the replacement does the same thing. I do not want to go to a black case, but its disappointing that the color rubs off the case.
BAD:
The charger port cover does not bend out of the way. I am nervous about bending it back too far and then it break off. It makes it difficult to place phone on a stand at night.
The opening for the charging cable only allows the Apple cable, or one that same size. I have several extra cable and car charges that I cannot use because of this. Other cases have enough room to allow slightly larger cables, such as Belkin.
Overal all this is a good case and I like it. To be honest if the charging port opening was slightly larger and the cover for it was easier to move out of the way I would give the case a 9/10. If you only use the Apple style cables then you have nothing to worry about.
Pros: High quality, Durable, colorful as long as it doesn't wear off
Cons: charging port opening not large enough, charging port cover- stiff

What is the height width length and weight of the iphone 5s preserver? Is it like the armor series? Bulky?

The Preserver series is not like the Armor series. It is slighly smaller than a Defender style case, yet adds the Waterproof functionality.

Will the case float with the phone inside?

No. You will need an accessory similiar the the Lifeproof LifeJacket. I have not tested to see if the Lifeproof Life Jacket would fit on this case.
