The Defender Series case for the iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad 4 is built for those of us on-the-go, have children or are generally graceless with electronics.

I love my defender! We have two of them, for each of our Ipads. The only design shortcoming is the silicone outer case, which deteriorates somewhat quickly at the flex points (where it covers the charging port).
BUT, our children have stepped on, jumped on, dropped, tossed, tripped over and generally abused the Ipads such that they would be tragic piles of rubble hundreds of times over, except that the Otterbox has saved them every time. They take serious, SERIOUS abuse and the Ipads look like new inside. Well done, Otterbox, I'm a customer for life.
Pros: High quality, Durable
Cons: not waterproof? is that even possible?

Does the 2 defender series iPad case keep water out and iPad dry

Need to know with all the defender2 iPad case can protect, dropping, etc does it have the ability to still completely dry function iPad?
Also can you hear out of it with that case, movies, tunes etc?
It will protect your Ipad in every way EXCEPT water damage. Water can pretty easily slip through the flex points where the charging port and headphone ports are.

The speaker has access to outside air, so it's still very listenable.

Otherwise, these things are really tough and can take tons of abuse of all kinds.
